About RinChen

Four generations of the RinChen family  at the Tibetan Terrier Club of Canada National Specialty in Brockville, Ontario, August 18, 2012.
RinChen Tibetan Terriers represents five generations of quality pure-bred Tibetan Terrier companions.
"RinChen" in the Tibetan language means treasure, honored or esteemed one, or precious jewel, which is what we seek to create and enjoy with all our Tibetan Terriers.

Since 1994, my family has owned, trained and shown pure-bred AKC dogs (Bernese Mountain Dogs and Tibetan Terriers) in America and Canada - with an eye to conformation, obedience, agility, carting and herding.  My family fulfilled a long wait for a Tibetan Terrier puppy in 2004, when we received a show potential puppy "Dharma" from our friends at Skyland's Tibetan Terriers.  My four adult children have helped me along the way, and continue to have dogs in their lives to this day.  RinChen is a family effort!

Claire's Many years with Canine Companions

The inspiration for my commitment to Tibetan Terriers began in 1972; however, dogs have been part of my life since childhood.  When I was growing up, our family was completed with two fun-loving terriers, Prince & Dusky, i lobbied my parents to keep a stray German Shepherd when i was a young teen, but i assume they found the dog's owners.
"Macky" (R.A.S. MacAllister), of unknown origin, born 1972 near Ramallah, occupied West Bank, Israel, was the camp mascot at Tel Gezer archaeological dig where I was a supervisor - and my constant companion until her passing in 1986.  Though not a Tibetan Terrier, she began my quest to find a similar pure-bred family companion of ancient lineage.
